But I am hoping those August xns just assigned manually (using 2.6.3) will produce assignment henceforth. I'm inclined not to post to the whole list until more info/data is in (unless you'd prefer otherwise), but I wanted to let you know.

Eliot,

We generally prefer otherwise, so please go back to the list once Derek gets his router replaced (today, we hope).

I t seems unlikely to me that upgrading to 2.6 would change anything about Bayesian matching, and 1 transaction isn't really a useful sample. I don't think that the screenshots would be helpful, but examining the account file might be. If you can send me that plus the backups from before you did each of the June and July imports I can compare the data stored in the Bayesian matching tree and perhaps find a clue about what's going wrong. Don't send *that* to the list.

John Ralls

Only about 3 transactions were properly assigned prior to hitting import; ie, I had to assign almost all by hand. Ie, they were almost all orange, in spite of many similar transactions between months.

I will try to look for the files and folder you mentioned (in backups pre 4/21) if you think that might be of value. [Ed: I just tried. Probably would be quite hard, since many files were MOVED to the new account, I think, not copied. I couldn't even log in. It hung.]

I spent 2 or 3 days recreating settings and the like. Might some GC file (perhaps in one of the libraries) not have been copied to the new account and be causing my problem?

I don't think that any of that would have any impact on Bayesian matching, which is all kept in the data file, though I suppose if you had to recreate aqbanking accounts you'd also have to re-associate them with GnuCash accounts and that might invalidate the old Bayesian keys.
