Blank Unrealised Gains/Total Equity/Total Liabilities & Equity on BS

Hey all,

I'm running into the issue(/bug?) where on some dates some of the
entries in the Balance Sheet go blank, namely Unrealised Gains, Total
Equity, and Total Liabilities & Equity. The resulting balance sheet
entries look like this:

Unrealised Gains C$
Total Equity C$
Total Liabilities & Equity C$

>From the first, earliest occurrence of this behaviour I've located, if
I roll-forward a bit further (couple of weeks), I can get later dates
where the issue goes away. But a bit further on still (weeks later and
up to the present) these fields seem permanently blank.

Anyway, focusing just on the earliest found instance of this problem,
using the Find command filtering by date, I've located a single txn
which, if I delete it, these balance sheet values reappear.

The particular txn is a simple transfer from USD to CAD. I've also
noticed if I change the exchange rate embedded in this transfer I can
apparently "fix" the balance sheet. For example if I change the rate
to 1, or to 1.1, or to .9, the BS shows the above with proper field
values. But if I use the rate I actually require (either by rate or by
debit amount), the BS fields are blank again.

So far I have tried:
- duplicate the transaction, and delete the other.
- Duplicate to one day earlier, and delete the other (in case it was a
txn chronology thing)
- Manually enter the same txn using description just 'TEST' to ensure
no auto-fill and delete the other.

To my surprise, none of these got around the problem. Only by using a
different exchange rate did the problem seem to go away. I can't
imagine there's something special about the particular exchange rate
I'm wanting to use. Are these rates stored somewhere that would be
triggering this problem when I match an existing (corrupt?) value or
something?

Any ideas welcomed.

Thanks,
Pete
