I set up a computer and printer-scanner for a friend, using Adriane, a
Knoppix derivative http://www.knopper.net/knoppix-adriane/index-en.html
(Klaus Knopper's wife is also blind). she can put a letter on the
scanner and have it read to her. Her grandkids are amazed at the
computer with no screen, but it keeps their fingers off her computer!
