Conversion from Quickbooks Pro

I just wanted to chime in on this. I just signed up just for this post. I use
GnuCash and came from Quickbooks. The last addition I had was the 2002
version. I have data from 1997 with payroll. I was able to find enough info
online to bring all my old data in. I used journal reports and it really
didn't take that much time. I also used a Linux script I found online but
had to rewrite a few lines in the code to get the import to work correctly
with the QIF format. I also used Ubuntu rather than windows to import but
now run it in windows. The main thing I found was you need to set up your
accounts in Gnucash to match Quickbooks exactly and the import will work.
