Hi Mike,
I think I would run these through an "undeposited funds" style accounting
method.
Each deposit is recorded separately into the undeposited funds account, then
when you actually pay the cheques into the bank, just a single transfer from
the undeposited funds -> current account.
You'll find more on the list archives about this method, I'm sure it came up
fairly recently too.
I don't really deal with cheques anymore, can't remember the last one I had to
pay in... most txns are electronic for me now.
