Screen fonts messed up

Thanks guys, it's most curious. As I said I managed to fix the issue by
disabling all my fonts, I guess the only way to isolate the exact problem is
to turn my fonts back on in batches and see if it comes back. Unless it was
a strange coincidence, it certainly seemed to occur with the upgrade of
Yosemite, although in another test I tried Gnu cash on my son's user account
and it was fine, so definitely an issue unique to my setup. Even if it is a
font conflict I don't think I've ever experienced the UI of a program having
issues like this, I'm no programmer though, it probably makes perfect sense
to those more technically minded. I'll report back if I do manage to narrow
down the culprit should anyone else come looking for an answer. In the mean
time thanks for everyone's input, greatly appreciated.
