Which stable version of GnuCash should I move to?

Kim,

       Can I have both 2.6.6 and 2.4 running on my PC under XP? You
see, I'd rather not update my working 2.4 in case something goes
wrong. I'd like to keep 2.6.6 under observation for some time to
confirm all is well, and then only uninstall my working 2.4.

      Possible?
