for me this is a mirracle, you are sure the answer is not somehow in a

you can try to use: "save as" and for this you use a new name for your 
file.

on new MacBook Air you have to start GnuCash and then use "open file" 
and navigate to your USB drive.

Exporting to other programs is not very well supported, normally people 
want to insert their data into GnuCash but it should be possible to 
export as CSV, but at this point I'm not sure.


Finally I have to say that I do not use GnuCash with Mac so there will 
be other peple who can give much better answers.
