You mention that you know how to open the price editor.  Follow the
instructions listed here for each date that you expect to need the price
for a report: 

http://code.gnucash.org/docs/C/gnucash-help/tool-price.html.

Then be sure that the report is configured to use "nearest in time"
before you run it.
