I wasn’t suggesting that you were making a demand of the Gnucash community, just saying that I thought I understood what you wished to achieve.

I can see that this would help you if you always enter transactions on the date they take place, and that you always entered them in chronological order, but what happens if you remember today something you bought yesterday, and enter this transaction? Will it have yesterday’s date but today’s time?

What happens if you find you’ve made a mistake, and entered a group of transactions in the wrong order? If you can’t see the time-stamp, how can you edit it?

I have no use for them, myself, and I have a feeling that there won’t be huge support among Gnucash users.

It took me a long time to understand what you were asking for in your original post.
If you want to get help from other people, it’s a good idea to make the question as simple as possible.
I have often found that breaking down a problem into its component parts so that it is simple to explain to someone else allows me to solve the problem myself.
