complete newbie here

yes this sounds like where i need to start to get up to speed. 

i am wondering are there some examples or templates of simple setups that i
could download or import so i could see some examples that are already set?

thanks i downloaded the PDF and started reading through it last night and
will check out the recommended wiki pages as well.
