Reconciliation vs balance assertions

Okay, I admit it... I still use 2.4 for my daily work...

So if it clears out the reconciliation all you need to do is immediately
re-reconcile the account using the last reconcile date and the last
reconcile balance and just re-check the item that got unreconciled.
Either that or, at your next reconcile ignore the starting balance,
enter in the correct ending balance, and be sure to re-check this
particular transaction that was unreconciled.
