Stop right there. GnuCash is not a big-business (profit or non doesn't matter) accounting program. Cost Accounting is a whole specialty on its own and is way outside of GnuCash's scope of personal and very small business use.

GnuCash is also not written for anyone in particular, so adding even a small module to a single user's specification is a non-starter. GnuCash is Free software and those who want custom modules may write their own or hire someone to do so; any distribution would be subject to the GPL, but someone who writes a module for their own use is under no obligation to share it.
