#1 - if you indeed have a backup, then no information has been lost.
#2 - What operating system?* Also, you mentioned ‘latest’ version of GnuCash. Is that 3.10?
#3 - The LCK file is a lock file. Its very presence will normally trigger a warning when starting GnuCash (or opening that associated data file) that the file is already open. You are given the options to not open the file, open it read-only, or to just open normally anyway.
#4 - If you aren’t getting this warning, something might be amiss, but you can still get to your data file.
Open GnuCash. Then navigate to File > Open and navigate to where your data file is stored, and proceed to open it.
GnuCash will then remember where the data file is stored and open it automatically the next time you start GnuCash.
*On some operating systems, you can’t double-click the data file to open it. You must use ‘File > Open’ instead.
Regards,
Adrien
p.s. - not sure what that text file would be. Check its contents. You might not need it. Your data file has a ‘.gnucash’ extension.
