[GNC] GnuCash 5.5 crash when entering Scheduled Transaction variable

In another thread it is reported that it does not crash for some of us,
but does not accept status changes, and does not accept variable entry.
These are likely all related: crash for some, ignored entry for others,
maybe works for others. It probably depends on exactly which SXs are
showing up.

I am seeing ignored entry but not crashes, with messages like this logged:

ERROR <gnc.gui.sx.slr> path [0:0:0] doesn't correspond to a valid variable

WARN <gnc.gui.sx.slr> invalid path [0:0]
