[GNC] printing blank checks

I don’t see any evidence that printers consider there to be any economy of scale for printing a few hundred checks. My credit union’s printing partner last year charged me $0.40/check for 80 checks — probably enough to last me a decade or two. The most recent time I bought 3 per page quicken wallet checks with side stubs, they cost $0.16 apiece. Sure, if you want to buy 6000 at a time, the price goes down to something like $0.05 each. But we just aren’t writing or printing enough checks to buy that many. We’ve only written 8000-10000 checks in the 40-something years we’ve been married. And we’re now writing/printing fewer than 10 checks per year.

But now that I have what’s probably a lifetime supply of preprinted blank checks, I don’t have to worry about trying to print everything myself.

We write checks for scholarships that are presented to the scholar but payable to the institution. We assist people in need and the elderly who don't handle technology well.

Most of the US institutions now days charge to handle paper check after it has been cashed in and even then they want you to pre-process it, and convert it into a digital image.
