Hi Elliot,

The "Recent Files" are stored in the GnuCash's GSettings keyfile: 
https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Configuration_Locations

The hard-coded limit on the number of entries is 10.

The easiest way to remove an entry from the list is to select the entry 
when it is not accessible and confirm that you would like to remove the 
entry.
