Its not clear what you're after here, but are you asking for a way to print out a summary of the year's transactions? If so you can find these under Reports. 

In my case, I print a Profit and Loss report every year, from April 1st to March 31st. Here's how it works.
 - Reports > Income & Expense > Profit and Loss
 - Check the date at the top of the page. It will probably say "Profit & Loss For Period Covering 2016-01-01 to 2016-12-31". You need to change these dates. 
 - Edit > Report Options > General. Choose a Start Date and an End Date. Hit Apply, and then OK. 

Your report now shows the correct dates. You can also add/remove accounts in the Report Options dialog.
